It’s hard to believe the holidays are already here. The month has gone by fast. The boys have done pretty well so far this holiday season, though we have had our share of meltdowns too. We made it through one family Christmas party, though we had to drive home in a blizzard. Dustin attended another party with me yesterday and did a fabulous job and had a good time. John didn’t make it, he is getting overwhelmed already, so he stayed at home with his dad.
John has been doing well in the Autism clinic. He’s been going part time and a full time schedule will start for him in the new year.
This week will be hectic, lots going on as our Christmas festivities kick into high gear on Tuesday and last through Christmas. The boys have been breaking chains on the countdown calendar and are now getting anxious as it gets closer to opening presents! We are going to try and stay as low key as possible and go only at the boys’ pace. Hopefully not too many meltdowns, yet I am expecting some. It just comes with autism, no getting around that. I am prepared for the meltdowns, and that is the key.
No matter what time of year it is, it’s always autism awareness time in my book, so with that I am sharing some wonderful holiday autism tags that I have found, courtesy of Autism Snags and Tags, for the season.
I want to wish everyone a Safe and Happy Holiday!
